Patient Access Solutions Signs Contract With Sprain Brook Manor Nursing Home for New LTNC Program
HAUPPAUGE, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Jan 6, 2009 -- Patient Access Solutions, Inc. (OTC BB:PASO.OB - News), a leading provider of healthcare/financial processing solutions for the healthcare, nursing, homecare and dental industries, today announced that they have contracted with Sprain Brook Manor Nursing Home in Westchester, New York to manage and improve care documentation.
Using the Patient Access Solutions, D-PAS digital pen solution, which can recognize handwriting, certified nursing assistants (CNAs) are bringing daily documentation into the information age. Staff can record standardized information on a resident's vital signs, as well as information on activities and other factors that are useful in determining a resident's well-being. The information is then captured in a Web-accessible database. From there, the facilities can create reports that show resident history, any signs of trouble, and potential risks. The suite of reports in the Long Term Nursing Care Assessment program includes:
Nutrition Report -- Track the weight gain or loss over time with the meal intake of each resident to identify the risk for each resident.
Behavior Report -- Track changes in resident behavior and trends for nursing units, understanding patterns across shifts.
Trigger Summary Report -- Evaluate the key triggers for pressure ulcers for each resident and view the relative risk for each resident.
Priority Report -- Focus the closest observations and trends on the high-risk residents and their changes week to week.
Each of these reports is available immediately through the D-PAS secure on-line portal.
According to Bruce Weitzberg, CEO and President of Patient Access Solutions, "The Long Term Nursing Care Assessment program will improve clinical workflow, enhance resident safety, and turn the wealth of information that staff document into valuable data. It is a simple, easy to use system that offers maximum return."
